About Liane

As an associate at Torys, Liane Ali-Hassan handles mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and capital markets work within a broader corporate law practice. Her recent work includes advising a syndicate of agents on Bruce Power L.P.'s C$950 million private placement of senior unsecured notes and representing Greenbrook TMS in its all-stock merger with Neuronetics. She earned a Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and a Master of Health Administration in 2024, along with a Bachelor of Business Management from Dalhousie in 2020, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2025. In law school she volunteered with the YMCA's Immigrant Programs and Homework Club and represented Nova Scotia law students with the Canadian Bar Association; she also mentors high-school students through the Law in Action Within Schools program. Her academic record earned her the Blakes, Cassels & Graydon LLP Scholarship and the M. Grace Wambolt, QC Scholarship.
