Laurie N. Duke is a partner at Torys who works closely with major private equity firms and institutional investors across Canada, bringing deep transactional experience and strong negotiation skills to complex, cross-border deals. She supports private equity firms, pension plans, and other strategic investors on domestic and cross-border investments, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, advising on both private and public company targets. Her practice also touches on shareholder arrangements, joint ventures, bankruptcy-related asset sales, corporate reorganizations, and broader securities and governance matters. Holding a dual call in both Ontario and New York, with earlier experience at firms in New York and Paris, she brings considerable skill in cross-border work. She serves on the Executive Committee for Canadian Women in Private Equity and also holds membership in PEWIN.
