About Laura

Laura Besada's practice is focused exclusively on family law, covering cohabitation, pre- and post-nuptial and separation agreements, divorce, spousal and child support, custody and guardianship, parenting arrangements and property division. She prefers a collaborative approach but has represented clients in the BC Provincial and Supreme Courts, including as co-counsel on a case awarding the largest compensation in the province to date for continuous breaches of conduct and parenting orders. She is a certified Family Law Mediator accredited by the Law Society of British Columbia and volunteers as a mediator through Access Pro-Bono's Virtual Family Mediation Program and as a lawyer at Rise Women's Legal Centre. She provides services in English and Spanish and speaks conversational German.
