About Alison
Alison Ouellet earned a B.A. with Distinction in Political Science from the University of Victoria in 1998 and an LLB from the University of British Columbia Law School in 2001, articling with a major Vancouver law firm before being called to the bar in 2002. She began specializing in family law in early 2002 and has practised exclusively in the area since. Ouellet has appeared before all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, where she acted as co-counsel on the landmark decision Leskun v. Leskun (2006 SCC 25), and she regularly appears before the BC Supreme Court and the BC Court of Appeal. She joined DJO Family Law as a partner in August 2008. While litigation remains a strong focus of her practice, she also works with clients on negotiation, mediation, and arbitration strategies, particularly where children are involved. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, has presented for its family law subsection, and has served as a guest instructor in family law for the Law Society's PLTC program.
