About Krystal

Krystal McKay is from Nak'Azdli Whuten, grew up in Chilliwack, and now calls Tk'emlups te Secwepemc home. She worked as a legal assistant and paralegal in the Lower Mainland for 15 years before deciding to pursue her Juris Doctor, moving to Kamloops with her family to study at Thompson Rivers University and graduating in 2023. She started her articles with Alexander Stewart Lawyers and was called to the bar in June 2025. Krystal practises family law and civil litigation, with a particular interest in on-reserve issues, having worked with area First Nations during law school and studied First Nations law in Canada. She belongs to the Canadian Bar Association, the Women Lawyers Forum, the Aboriginal Lawyers Forum, the Indigenous Bar Association, and the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia.
