About Kimberly
Kimberly Rule practices in wills and estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation, and has particular expertise in collapsing unwanted trusts, an area the Canadian Bar Association flew her to Toronto to teach to junior lawyers in 2016. She graduated from McGill University's law school in 1991, having studied both common and civil law in French and English on a full scholarship. She articled in Toronto at what is now known as Faskens before returning to British Columbia, where she practiced real estate law before working in London, England with a team of barristers and solicitors defending the Bank of America in litigation tied to the collapse of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International. She then studied for a Master's in Tax Law while raising two children before moving into wills, estates and trusts. Kimberly has a niche practice representing children who become vulnerable to legal claims after the death of a parent. She is past chair of the Canadian Bar Association's Wills and Estates Subsection for the Okanagan and a member of the Kelowna Estate Planning Society.
