About Kimberley
Kimberley Ishmael is a partner whose practice focuses on legal issues in the education sector, including student safety and discipline, special education, human rights, and privacy matters. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2007 and holds a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Arts from York University. Kimberley advises school boards and other clients on their obligations under municipal, provincial, and federal privacy laws, including access requests and breach responses. Her employment practice covers drafting employment agreements and HR policies, accommodation issues, and terminations for both unionized and non-unionized workplaces. She acts as independent counsel in professional discipline and fitness-to-practise proceedings and appears before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner, and professional colleges such as the College of Nurses and the Ontario College of Teachers.
