About Katie
Katie Scott has practised criminal law for more than two decades. She earned her law degree from Dalhousie University in 2003 and holds a BA (Hons.) from St. Mary's University, having enjoyed her years in Halifax before returning to Ontario. She became a partner at Rusonik, O'Connor, Ross, Hershberg, Ghebrai & MacDonald LLP in July 2010, after already holding partner status at the firm's predecessor since 2005. Her defence work centres on sexual assault, human trafficking, manslaughter, and murder charges, and she has acted as counsel on several major prosecutions involving drugs, firearms, and organized crime allegations. Over the years she has appeared before every level of trial court in Ontario. She also volunteers with local high schools, moot court coaching, and legal education programs at Toronto Metropolitan University and Humber College.
