About Katie
Katie Ahn is an associate at Carbert Waite LLP with a general litigation practice emphasizing health law, employment law and commercial litigation, and she also represents clients in disputes over wills, powers of attorney and other estate matters. In her health practice she advises and represents healthcare institutions and health professionals on complex issues including medical malpractice defence and professional liability, and in employment she advises employees and employers on terminations, disability and human rights matters. She was called to the Law Society of Ontario in 2019 and to the Law Society of Alberta in 2022, having previously practised at national firms in Calgary and Ottawa defending healthcare institutions, physicians and other professionals, and representing insurers in product liability and construction litigation matters. She earned her JD from the University of Ottawa in 2018 and a BA from the University of Calgary in 2015, and is fluent in Korean.
