About Kathleen
Kathleen O'Brien joined the firm in 2024 with a background in employment, commercial, and civil litigation, having previously practised at a litigation firm in Calgary and in the Yellowknife office of a large full-service business firm. Her insurance defence practice covers transportation, employment, and subrogation matters. She has appeared for clients before the Alberta Court of Justice, Court of King's Bench, and the Northwest Territories' Territorial Court. Kathleen O'Brien received her JD from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2020, after earning a Master of Arts in political science at Dalhousie researching the administration of military mental healthcare in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary's University, where she played four years on the varsity hockey team as an Academic All-Canadian. Kathleen O'Brien has been called to the bar in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, and Yukon.
