About Karl

Karl Roemer is a partner and experienced civil litigator specializing in insurance defence, covering personal injury, construction, occupiers' liability, property loss, mental-health related matters, medical malpractice, municipal matters, strata matters, and insurance coverage. He has acted as lead counsel in trials in British Columbia and Saskatchewan and has appeared before the Court of Appeal for British Columbia and the Supreme Court of Canada. Roemer earned a B.A. from the University of Victoria (2010) and a J.D. from the University of Saskatchewan (2014), and was called to the Saskatchewan bar in 2015 and the British Columbia bar in 2017. He became a partner at Carfra Lawton in 2024 after joining as an associate in 2017.
