About Karina
Karina Juma is a Canadian immigration and refugee lawyer whose practice centres on refugee protection, climate justice, and human rights. She earned her JD from the University of Ottawa in 2024 and holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs from Carleton University, and was called to the Law Society of British Columbia in 2025. She articled at Heron Law Offices and has worked with founding lawyer Will Tao since January 2024 on legal and policy issues involving automated decision-making in immigration.
