About Sonny

Sonny S. Parhar is a graduate of the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. After earning his Bachelor of Commerce and working briefly in commercial real estate appraisal, he moved to Ontario to study law at the University of Windsor, graduating in the top 10% of his class. He articled and was called to the bar in Ontario at McDonald & Hayden in downtown Toronto, then was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2002. He practised as an associate with the Vancouver firm Thompson & Elliott in commercial litigation, real estate, personal injury, and family law for 8 years before incorporating Parhar Law Corporation and founding Kosteckyj & Parhar with Walter Kosteckyj in 2010. Sonny is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and a past President of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, and serves on the executive committee of the New Westminster Bar Association. He has argued cases in family law, personal injury, and commercial litigation in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the BC Court of Appeal, and also practises real estate litigation, including leasing and builders lien disputes.
