About Karin Maiterth

Karin Maiterth is a partner at GGFI Law LLP and leads the firm’s estate administration department. Adoptions by stepparents and relatives are another part of Karin’s practice, and since Karin’s fluent in German, clients who’d rather work in that language can.

Kitchener is home, shared with a spouse and two children, and free time goes to horseback riding, travel and backing the kids in their various activities. Karin is a member of both the Waterloo Law Association and the Canadian Bar Association.

Karin studied political science at the University of Waterloo, graduating with an honours degree, and then took a law degree at Queen’s University. The firm has been Karin’s professional home from the start: Karin did articles at GGFI, was called to the bar in 2005, and by 2025 had marked twenty years there along with a completed five-year term as managing partner.
