About Karin

Karin Maiterth is a partner at GGFI Law who leads the firm's estate administration department. Alongside that role, she maintains an active practice in real estate and estate planning, helping clients with home purchases and sales, refinancing work, plus drafting wills and powers of attorney. She also has a specialization in adoption law, handling stepparent and relative adoptions. Karin completed five years as the firm's managing partner in 2025, marking twenty years with GGFI overall. She earned her B.A. in Honours Political Science from the University of Waterloo and her law degree from Queen's University. After articling at the firm, she was called to the Ontario bar in 2005. She is fluent in German and can assist German-speaking clients directly, and holds memberships with the Canadian Bar Association as well as the Waterloo Law Association.
