Karen Tiwana practices employment law, family law, and estate litigation at YLaw's Langley office. In her employment practice she advises both employers and employees, from workplace policies and employment contracts to wrongful dismissal, severance, harassment, and human rights complaints. Her family law work focuses on high-net-worth matters involving complex financial portfolios, closely held corporations, and business valuations, covering separation, divorce, property division, support, and parenting arrangements. In estate litigation she represents beneficiaries, executors, and trustees in wills variation actions and disputes over testamentary capacity and undue influence. She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the BC Court of Appeal, the BC Supreme and Provincial Courts, and several tribunals. She speaks English and Punjabi.
