About Peter
Peter Jones is Managing Partner at Woodward & Company, with a practice centered on First Nations economic development and land matters, business, employment, and governance. He has represented clients in British Columbia's Supreme and Provincial Courts and Canada's Supreme Court, and served as counsel in Cowichan Tribes v Canada, successfully ensuring recognition of Aboriginal title for Tl'uqtinus village lands and an Aboriginal right to fish. He holds a law degree from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Music, with distinction, in music performance from the University of Victoria. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2013, the Manitoba Bar in 2016, and the Yukon Bar in 2021. He is editor of the CLE Due Diligence Deskbook, a former chair of the Victoria Battle of the Bar Bands organizing committee, has served on the boards of the CBA's Civil Litigation and Aboriginal Law subsections, and is a professional musician who performs locally in Victoria.
