About Justin
Justin Abrioux is a partner in the firm's insurance group, and his work is almost entirely litigation-based, centered on insurance defence, professional liability, and coverage issues. He has substantial experience with complex, high-value personal injury files touching occupier's liability and historical claims of sexual abuse, and he also handles professional liability matters, defending hospitals and nurses against medical negligence allegations and other lawyers accused of professional negligence. He advises and defends insurers on first-party coverage claims across several sectors. An experienced trial lawyer with a strong record, he has appeared at every level of court in British Columbia, and while he pushes disputes toward practical resolutions, he will take a matter to trial if the other side's expectations are unreasonable. Before law school, Justin competitively raced downhill skateboards, and he has since redirected that competitive drive toward off-road motorcycle racing, along with golf and amateur home cooking. He belongs to the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association, and serves as a board member of the Vancouver Bar Association.
