About Joseph
Joseph Saulnier practices criminal defence at Martland & Saulnier, with experience ranging from murder and sexual assault charges to securities investigations, regulatory work, driving prohibitions, and extraditions, and is sometimes retained by the Crown to prosecute serious cases. He has appeared at all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada, and before regulatory bodies such as the BC and Alberta Securities Commissions and the BC Financial Services Authority. He studied law at the University of Victoria, including a term at the University of Utrecht Faculty of Law, and holds a BA from the University of British Columbia. Before joining the firm, he clerked at the BC Supreme Court, worked as an associate at a large Vancouver firm, and was part of the defence team on the Robert Pickton trial, recognized with the BC Trial Lawyers Association President's Award. He is a former adjudicator with the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles and a past chair of the Vancouver Criminal Justice Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association.
