About John

John is a founding partner of McLeish Orlando, where his practice focuses on representing individuals and families who have suffered serious or catastrophic personal injury or the loss of a loved one. He has been named Lawyer of the Year in Personal Injury Litigation by Best Lawyers in Canada, listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, and certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in civil litigation. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and in 2000 the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association created the John A. McLeish Award in his honour. His case work includes one of the largest personal injury damages awards in Canada, obtained on behalf of a young girl with a brain injury and her family. His areas of focus include traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, serious orthopedic injuries, and fatal accident cases arising from motor vehicle collisions, drunk driving, and unsafe roads. John has co-authored several books on personal injury litigation, including one focused specifically on traumatic brain injury cases.
