About John
John McKiggan, K.C. is a partner at McKiggan Hebert Lawyers who focuses his practice on personal injury claims, including car and truck accidents, birth injuries, spinal cord injuries, medical malpractice, and sexual abuse compensation. He was counsel in two of the largest reported personal injury settlements in Nova Scotia, Chisholm v Ball et al and Rankin v Joshi et al. John has served as class counsel in several class actions, including a claim against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Antigonish on behalf of survivors of sexual abuse and a case brought on behalf of former residents of the Shubenacadie Indian Residential School. He is a founding member of the Birth Injury Lawyer Alliance of Canada and a past president of the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyer Association. John has been appointed King's Counsel and has been repeatedly recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Guide for personal injury law.
