About John

John practises corporate law as a partner in McInnes Cooper's Halifax office. He represents private corporations, institutional lenders, entrepreneurs, and family offices on mergers and acquisitions, banking and financing, and project development, concentrating on the energy, natural resources, and infrastructure sectors. Best Lawyers Canada has recognized him in its "Ones to Watch" list for corporate law since 2025. John earned his J.D., with a Certificate in Business Law, from Dalhousie University in 2017 and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2018. He belongs to the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and the Canadian Bar Association and serves as director and past president of Ski Nova Scotia.
