About Joel

Joel Fairbrother is a partner and co-founder of Bow River Law LLP, practicing mainly in employment law, labour law, and human rights, along with some general civil litigation. He has litigated at all levels of court in Alberta and made successful submissions to the Supreme Court of Canada. Before law school he worked as an apprentice electrician and instrumentation technician in Alberta's oil sands. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Law in 2011, articled at a national firm, and worked in the employment group at Fieldlaw before co-founding Bow River Law. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Calgary's Faculty of Law and has been named to Best Lawyers in Canada for labour and employment law.
