About Joe
Joe Barnsley, K.C. is a partner at Pitblado Law whose practice spans the commercial and regulatory sides of transportation, including buying, selling, leasing, and financing aircraft, air carriers, railways, and rail equipment, and defending document holders against regulatory action by government. He was admitted to the Manitoba Bar in 1973 and holds an LL.B. and B.A. from the University of Manitoba (1972 and 1968). Barnsley led the $80 million Manitoba Blue Cross Claims Processing Solution Project and is the only counsel to have obtained a costs order against Transport Canada from the Transportation Appeal Tribunal. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2023 and has chaired the Manitoba Bar Association's Transportation and Air Law Section.
