She was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1987 after earning her BA from St. Francis Xavier University in 1983 and her law degree from the University of New Brunswick in 1986, and was appointed Queen's Counsel (now King's Counsel) in 2008. Jocelyn practises civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance defence, wrongful dismissal, and family law, acting on behalf of major Canadian and US insurance companies. Her litigation practice also extends to construction law, breach of contract, and creditor-debtor matters, and she has substantial experience in municipal and administrative law, including by-law validity, planning and development, and municipal contract and liability issues. She frequently appears at mediations, settlement conferences and trials at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
