About Jessica
Jessica Cox is an associate lawyer who was called to the bar in May 2026 and is currently accepting clients, including Legal Aid clients. She is a graduate of the University of British Columbia's Allard School of Law and, before her legal career, served as a Justice of the Peace at the Fort McMurray Provincial Courthouse in Alberta. She also worked at the Edmonton Bail Hearing Office, gaining experience with pre-trial detention and release matters. Jessica focuses on criminal law with a specialization in Aboriginal law. As a Métis person, she has worked with Indigenous communities throughout her career, including alongside an Indigenous child welfare lawyer and in helping establish several Indigenous justice centres in the province.
