About Jamie

Jamie is a litigator who represents Indigenous people, governments, and organizations, combining historical analysis with contemporary legal strategy. He appears before courts in British Columbia and federally and has an active specific claims negotiations practice representing BC First Nations. His notable cases include Yahey v. British Columbia, the first case in Canada to find the Crown breached treaty promises through cumulative industrial development impacts, and Ahousaht Indian Band v. Canada, addressing Aboriginal commercial fishing rights. He earned his J.D. from the University of Victoria in 2015 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2016 and the Yukon Bar in 2023.
