About James

James Samaroden specializes in collaborative family law practice and, when negotiations are unsuccessful, litigation. He practices in divorce, common-law separation, child and spousal support, parenting time, guardianship, and custody matters, and is available for limited-scope representation and independent legal advice on agreements. Samaroden was born and raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta, earned a Bachelor of Management with great distinction from the University of Lethbridge in 2005, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria in 2009, including co-op work terms with Syncrude, the British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, and law firms in Vancouver and Victoria. He is a past board member of the Association of Collaborative Family Professionals (Edmonton), a member of the Canadian Bar Association, and was co-chair of the CBA's Young Lawyers Edmonton Chapter until 2011.
