About James

James Murdoch is the Managing Partner of Thorsteinssons LLP and practices out of the firm's Toronto office, where his work spans domestic and international corporate and personal tax planning for private corporations, trusts, and estates. He also represents clients through audits and appeals with the Canada Revenue Agency. He belongs to the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Canadian Tax Foundation, and is a past chair of the Ontario Bar Association's Taxation Section. He has spoken at numerous conferences run by groups including the Canadian Tax Foundation, the OBA, STEP, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, and has published in the Canadian Tax Journal, Canadian Tax Highlights, and other tax publications. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1999, after earning his LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 1997 and a Business Administration degree with Honours from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1993.
