About Alexander

Alexander Barnes is an associate in the Vancouver office of Thorsteinssons LLP, where he concentrates on tax litigation and dispute resolution, handling matters from audit stage through to trial. He has appeared before both the Tax Court of Canada and the Federal Court. He completed his Juris Doctor at Robson Hall, University of Manitoba, in 2022, making the Dean's Honour List every year and picking up several prizes, including the Gold Medal in Business Law. He was also on the winning team at the 2022 Bowman National Tax Moot. Before joining the firm, he clerked at the Tax Court of Canada and worked as counsel with the Department of Justice's Tax Law Services.
