About James

James McCarthy is an associate in Cunningham Swan's municipal law group, assisting municipalities with litigation and administrative law matters. He completed his undergraduate degree in international studies and modern languages at the University of Ottawa in 2012 and his law degree at McGill University in 2016, with study exchanges in Hong Kong and the Netherlands. He completed an LL.M. specializing in political and legal thought at Queen's University in 2017, and was called to the bar in New Brunswick and Ontario in 2019. He practises in both English and French.
