About Ivan
Ivan Luxenberg is a partner at Malach Fidler Sugar + Luxenberg LLP. He earned a BA from McGill University in 1977 and Bachelor of Civil Law and Bachelor of Common Law degrees from McGill in 1981, and was admitted to the Ontario bar in 1983. He later attended the Harvard Law School Mediation Program and taught tort, contract law and civil procedure as a part-time lecturer at Seneca College. Ivan's practice was long centred on insurance and personal injury matters, acting for both insurers and plaintiffs, and he now works full-time as a mediator handling statutory accident benefit, tort, long-term disability and medical malpractice cases. He chaired the Dispute Resolution Group of the Counsel Forum at FSCO from 2004 to 2006 and belongs to the Ontario Bar Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers, the Advocacy Society, the York Region Law Association and the Metropolitan Toronto Law Association.
