About Ilana
Ilana Zylberman Dembo is a partner at Epstein Cole who resolves complex family law disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or in the courtroom, adapting her approach to each client's needs. She has worked on ground-breaking, precedent-setting cases at both trial and appellate levels, including before the Supreme Court of Canada, and is regularly sought out to advise multigenerational family businesses on how family law intersects with corporate and trust structures. Her focus areas include valuing private businesses and professional corporations, executive compensation and pension plans, complex trust and tax structures, and cross-border issues, alongside parenting disputes. Ilana is an Associate Editor of the Reports of Family Law, has lectured for the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Ontario Bar Association, and served as a Dispute Resolution Officer for the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1998 and holds an LL.B. from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law.
