As part of Goodmans' emerging business initiative, Eashan Karnik volunteers as a 'legal counsel in residence' at the DMZ at Toronto Metropolitan University, an incubator for tech startups, where he provides legal advice and mentorship to promising Canadian startups. He is recognized in the Chambers Canada Guide as an Associate to Watch for Startups & Emerging Companies. Before joining Goodmans, Eashan worked at another Toronto law firm, focusing exclusively on high-growth startups and tailoring legal advice to their growth and strategy needs. He holds a law degree from the University of Ottawa, an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, and a certificate in Company Law from the University of Cambridge. Before law school, Eashan held provincial and municipal policy roles, and was selected as part of Canada's 30 Under 30 in 2019.
