About Ian
Ian S. Scarlett is a partner who has spent more than two decades advising companies and high-net-worth individuals and families on mid-market business matters. His corporate and commercial practice focuses on corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing, joint ventures and partnerships, and corporate governance, with particular depth in the transportation, logistics, automotive, technology, and electric vehicle infrastructure sectors. Before law school he worked in information technology, both on the front line and in senior management. Ian holds a Bachelor of Commerce and an M.B.A. from McGill University and a J.D. from the University of Toronto. He articled at a downtown Toronto firm before joining Loopstra Nixon in 1997, where he later served as Managing Partner and now sits on the firm's Executive, Finance, and Technology Committees. He is also the current Treasurer of Law Exchange International, an association of mid-market law firms operating in 38 countries.
