Ian Gamble practices international tax law from the firm's Vancouver office, advising large multinational and domestic corporations across various industry sectors. His work spans cross-border M&A, financing transactions, corporate group restructurings, controlled foreign affiliate planning, international tax treaty issues, joint ventures, and CRA audit and appeal matters. He has written two Canadian tax texts: The Foreign Affiliate Rules, co-authored with Bill Holmes, and Taxation of Canadian Mining, and previously served as editor-in-chief of two publications, the International Tax Planning Journal and the Resource Sector Taxation Journal. Ian has taught corporate and international taxation as an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia's law school and has served as a governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation. He earned a B.Sc. from McGill University and an LL.B. from the University of British Columbia, where he won the Prize in Corporate Taxation, and articled at Stikeman Elliott in Toronto. He is called to the bar in both British Columbia and Ontario.
