About Ian

Ian Dunbar is a partner in McInnes Cooper's Halifax office with a dispute resolution practice covering commercial, construction and business litigation, along with life and health, professional liability, property and specialty lines insurance claims. He has frequently appeared as lead counsel before the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, and lectured on civil trial practice at Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law for ten years. Ian was named a Lexpert Rising Star in 2017 and was listed on Benchmark Canada's '40 & Under Hotlist' in 2017, 2018 and 2019. He earned his LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 2006 and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2007.
