Iain MacKinnon is Of Counsel with extensive experience advising senior management, drawn from both in-house roles and private practice. His work touches corporate and commercial matters, contract disputes, employment, defamation, media and entertainment, copyright and trademark, technology, privacy, real estate disputes, and appeals. He has substantial trial and tribunal experience and has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada. Iain has acted for media outlets including CBC, Postmedia, CTV/Bell Media, the Toronto Star, and the Globe and Mail on defamation, publication bans, and access to court documents, and he advises writers, producers, and publishers on production and distribution agreements. He earned his LL.B. from Osgoode Law School in 1995 and a B.A. Hons. from Western University in 1990.
