About HyunGu

HyunGu Kang is an associate at OKT with a background in applied natural sciences and political ecology. She completed an honours Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Conservation at the University of British Columbia, followed by a joint JD/Master of Environmental Studies through York University and Osgoode Hall Law School. She received academic prizes in tort and constitutional law and awards for oral advocacy, and took part in the Indigenous Lands, Resources, and Governance Intensive and the Anishinaabe Law Camp while at Osgoode. Before joining OKT, HyunGu clerked for judges at the Federal Court and worked in the environmental law group of a Toronto corporate firm. She is called to the bar in Ontario.
