About Herschel
Herschel W. Chaiet is an associate at Lenczner Slaght, building a practice that spans commercial litigation, professional liability, infrastructure, real estate, and public law. He graduated with distinction from Western University's Faculty of Law, earning top marks in courses like trial advocacy and receiving an award for a paper on recognizing foreign judgments. Before law school, he studied philosophy at McMaster University, completing a master's thesis on constitutional interpretation. He summered and articled at the firm and has worked on matters ranging from a motor vehicle appeal to construction disputes and a Supreme Court of Canada case on de facto expropriation. Herschel was called to the Ontario bar in 2024 and also serves as a reservist in the Royal Canadian Navy.
