About Helene
Helene Walford was called to the bar in June 2001 and has appeared as counsel before the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia in complex personal injury, insurance litigation, sexual assault, defamation, contract, and property damage cases. She also practices criminal defence, representing clients on charges including assault, robbery, theft, fraud, and drug offences, and co-authored a 2001 Advocate article on post-charge delay under section 11(b) of the Charter. In 2010 she was appointed to the Employment and Assistance Appeal Tribunal, deciding appeals related to the Ministry of Social Development and the Child Care Subsidy Program, and she is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association.
