Alison Murray graduated from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law in 1982 and has practiced law since her call to the bar in 1983. After practicing at two large downtown firms, she started Dickson Murray with Gail Dickson, QC, and after Gail Dickson's appointment to the bench, continued the practice with Karen Jamieson under the firm's current name, Murray Jamieson. She retired from the partnership in 2024 and is now associate counsel, practicing general litigation with an emphasis on insurance defence, including disability and life insurance claims, personal injury, and professional negligence. She served on the Editorial Advisory Board of the British Columbia Motor Vehicle Accident Practice Manual from 1999 to 2023, was awarded the Leader in Learning Award from Continuing Legal Education in 2015, was named Best Lawyers' Vancouver Personal Injury Litigation Lawyer of the Year in 2018 and Lawyer of the Year in Canada in 2023, and received the Lee Samis Award of Excellence from Canadian Defence Lawyers in 2020. She was appointed Queen's Counsel, now King's Counsel, in January 2009.
