About Genevieve

Genevieve Smillie was born and raised in Ottawa and graduated from Carleton University in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Legal Studies and Neuroscience, followed by a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2022. She articled under Eric Honey at Honey MacMillan Law Office, a boutique Westboro firm specializing in wills and estate administration, and was hired as an associate lawyer there after her call to the bar. Her practice has focused on estate planning and administration, wills and trusts, guardianship matters and real estate law. She has a particular interest in digital law, access to information and data privacy protection, holds a Certificate in Information Access and Privacy Protection from the University of Alberta, and is certified by the Canadian Institute of Access and Privacy Professionals and a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
