About Michael
Michael Gerhard is a partner with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP's Long-Term Disability and Personal Injury Law practice. He represents people who have been hurt in accidents and those whose disability benefits have been denied or cut off, working with clients in Ontario and Alberta. He draws on his knowledge of Canada's insurance and civil litigation systems to hold insurers accountable, and has appeared on behalf of clients before Small Claims Court, the Ontario Municipal Board, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Appeal. Before joining Samfiru Tumarkin, Michael trained at both an insurance defence firm and a leading personal injury firm, giving him insight into how insurers evaluate and defend claims. He earned an Honours B.A. in philosophy from McMaster University, with a senior thesis on constitutionalism, before graduating from the University of Windsor's Faculty of Law in 2013 and being called to the bar in 2014. He also teaches a paralegal class on the subject at Seneca College.
