About Farhad
Farhad Mehr is the managing partner of Francis Lawyers, with a litigation practice spanning civil, defamation, construction lien, commercial and franchise, family, and estate matters. He has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Justice (civil, family, and small claims branches), the Landlord and Tenant Board, the Criminal Injury Compensation Board, the Labour Relations Board, and the Ontario Health Services Review Board. He represents a number of franchisors and franchisees in corporate litigation and landlord-tenant disputes, and assists clients with corporate restructuring and construction lien matters. Farhad has particular experience in cyber defamation, having obtained court orders compelling companies like Google to disclose the identities of anonymous online defamers. He earned a combined Civil and Common Law degree from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and completed a Certificate in Arbitration through Penn State Law in conjunction with McGill University, and he practises in English, French, and Farsi.
