About Evan
Evan Clemence focuses his practice on family law, including cases involving domestic violence, after earning his Juris Doctor in 2012. Before that, he received the University of Toronto's Anne Marjorie Beer Scholarship, as well as the High North Scholarship, which let him study human rights and Indigenous peoples' rights in Tromso, Norway. He also has a background in criminal law, having once worked with the Durham Crown Attorney's Office as a per diem lawyer, and he handled a number of civil litigation matters before shifting his focus to family law. Evan chairs the Ontario Bar Association's Comite des Langues Officielles and previously sat on the executive of COFRD (Conseil des Organismes Francophones de la Region de Durham) and the Station Gallery in Whitby. He also served on the Durham Region Law Association's Best Practices Committee, which developed child protection policy for the Oshawa courthouse. Evan is bilingual in English and French and hosts a jazz radio program on Choq FM in Toronto.
