Wills, Estates & TrustsErin O'Brien Edmonds is a senior counsel at Arcus Legal with an experienced real estate and estate planning practice going back to 1983. She advises executors on managing and transferring estate real estate, works extensively in the Land Registration system on migrations, subdivisions, easements, and restrictive covenants, and as a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) crafts tax-planned estate plans for clients holding assets in companies and family trusts. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada every year since 2010 and was named Halifax Real Estate Lawyer of the Year in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2021. She was appointed Queen's Counsel (now King's Counsel) in 2002, chaired the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society's Real Estate Standards Committee from 2007 to 2016, and is a former chair and current board member of the Real Estate Lawyers' Association of Nova Scotia. She earned her LL.B. from Dalhousie University Law School in 1983 and her STEP TEP designation in 2005, and has been a practising member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society since 1984. Her son Matthew Edmonds also practises law with her at Arcus Legal.
