About Eric

Eric Kay serves as Counsel at Baker & Company in Toronto, where he practises employment law and commercial litigation. He has held various roles in law firm management, served as district counsel for a major financial institution, and litigated a wide range of cases over his career. On the employment side, he prepares workplace policies and documentation, advises on discipline and terminations, deals with restrictive covenants, and handles wrongful dismissal and human rights matters. His commercial litigation work covers business, shareholder, and partnership disputes as well as creditor and debtor rights and remedies. Eric earned his Juris Doctor from Queen's University in 1981 and a B.A. (Hons.) from Royal Military College in 1978, and he was called to the Ontario bar in 1983.
