About Eric

Eric J. Adams is a partner at Dutton Brock LLP, which he joined in 2009 following his call to the Ontario Bar, becoming a partner in 2017. His practice covers insurance coverage disputes, defence, and subrogation, spanning product liability, personal injury, professional liability, disability, first-party property, and transportation matters. Eric completed a Master of Laws focused on insurance coverage litigation and has published widely on insurance topics in industry and peer-reviewed journals. He regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on interlocutory matters and has served as trial counsel in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta, where he is also a member of the respective law societies. Eric sits on the Canadian Defence Lawyers' Insurance Coverage Law committee and has chaired its annual insurance coverage symposium. He holds a BA with distinction from the University of Calgary, an LLB from the University of Victoria, and an LLM from the University of British Columbia.
