About Eric

Eric Bland is an associate at SimpsonWigle who concentrates on tax law, guiding clients through objections, appeals, voluntary disclosures and tax planning. Before joining the firm he clerked for judges of the Tax Court of Canada in Ottawa, work that shaped his understanding of judicial reasoning and tax legislation. He also gained litigation experience as a provincial prosecutor and as an articling student with the Crown Attorney's office. Eric holds a Juris Doctor from Lakehead University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo, and he was called to the Ontario Bar in 2024. He is a member of the Hamilton Law Association, the Ontario Bar Association's taxation section and the Canadian Bar Association.
