About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Egberts is an associate in Thorsteinssons' Toronto office whose practice centers on tax litigation and dispute resolution involving Canadian commodity tax, including HST, GST, and provincial sales taxes. She has represented clients in appeals before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and as an intervenor at the Supreme Court of Canada, and she also guides clients through CRA audits, objections, voluntary disclosures, taxpayer relief applications, and collections disputes. Before joining the firm she worked in the tax group of a national firm and clerked for judges of the Tax Court of Canada. She holds a JD and BA from the University of Toronto, completed the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course, and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2019 and the British Columbia Bar in 2026.
